Police to submit report on Ananthy Sasitharan
The Mullaitivu Magistrate on Thursday (29), ordered the Police to submit a report on the alleged derogatory remarks made by the Northern Provincial Council Member Ananthi Sasitharan concerning Courts.
Ananthi Sasitharan, the wife of former LTTE Trincomalee District political head S. Elilan, had made derogatory remarks condemning the Courts by stating that the State Counsel and Sri Lanka Army would produce fake evidence at the next hearing pertaining to the ongoing case about the persons remain missing after they surrendered to the Army.
The State Counsel said in court that Ananthi Sasitharan had also recently given an interview to the media stating that she did not have hopes on the decisions given by Courts. A copy of a CD to prove her statement made to the media was also presented to Court and also the State Counsel requested the Magistrate to inquire into the matter.
Considering the above allegations, Mullaitivu Magistrate M.S.M. Samsudeeen had ordered the Police to submit a report. (Daily News)
