TNA British branch and Wigneswaran meet

A meeting was held in Britain between the British branch of the Tamil National Alliance and Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran on 17 July 2015. Representatives of the Federal Party, People Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE) and Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) participated at this meeting. No representative from EPRLF party was present.

The situation in the Northern province, the situation of the displaced and resettlement the development of the war-affected areas and livelihood issues of affected people were discussed with suggestions made to help people affected directly or through or through other organizations and through small scale investments whilst avoiding large scale investments presently.

The development of education in the Northern province was also discussed. Discussions also took place on the decline of Tamil values and Culture in the North. The Chief Minister expressed his  concerns on the increased trends of use of drugs and alcohol by students.
