Missing persons commission to release the final report in August.

MissingThe missing persons commission is in the process of drafting its final report, secretary to the commission H.W. Gunadasa said.

Gunadasa said that the Presidential commission is expected to release the final report in August.

He said that the advise of the foreign experts appointed by the former Government to assist the commission, is being sought while drafting the final report.

Gunadasa also said that the commission has sought to increase the number of commissioners from 3 to 5 in order to expedite the work of the commission .

He said that the two additional commissioners are expected to be identified and the names will be communicated to the Presidential Secretariat soon.

The commission, from the time it was established, has recorded statements from families of those missing and is conducting inquiries into those statements.
