Govt seeks cordiality with Northern Province

Local Government Minister Karu Jayasuriya has stated that the new government seeks to establish cooperation with the northern province not only to solve people’s problems and but more than that to build national unity. We believe in a consensual approach.

Minister Jayasuriya was addressing the special meeting of the Northern Province Coordinating Committee held at the auditorium of the Jaffna Public Library on 16 February. Chief Minister of the Northern Province Justice Wigneswaran, Deputy Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran, Jaffna Parliamentarians Murugesu Chandrakumar, Selvam Adaikalanathan, Governor Palihakkara and Northern Provincial Council Chairman C.V.K.Sivagnanam were also present.
