Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarian, M.A. Sumanthiran who met officers of Human Rights Council, including Sandra Beidas head of the UNHRC investigation Committee, investigating the War Crimes that occurred in Sri Lanka, in Geneva on 06 February said that he had insisted, that under no circumstances, should the report of the UN investigation be delayed
He further said that, TNA’s Leader R. Sampanthan had sent a letter on 26 January insisting that the report of the UN investigation Report, should be published on, the announced date without any delay, to the UNHRC Commissioner, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein.
He had explained the consequences of delaying the publication of this report and that delaying the publication will nullify the importance of it.
Meanwhile, the Illanaki Thamil Arasu Katchi Leader Mavai Senathyrajah stated that a high powered delegation of the Tamil National Alliance will visit Geneva prior to the commencement of the sessions of UN Human Rights Council.
Speaking to the Jaffna media, he assured that the TNA will reiterate its stand that the UN Inquiry into the war crimes must proceed and that its report should not be put off under any circumstances.
