Families protest wanting answers from Ananthi Sasitharan
The lawyers appearing for Ananthi Sasitharan the wife of former LTTE Trincomalee district political head S. Elilan had to face the wrath of Families of Tamils who had been abducted arrived at the Mullaitivu courts demanding to know what Anathi and her husband former LTTE political leader Elilan had done to their children. Ananthi Sasitharan did not arrive at the Mullaitivu Magistrates courts today 25 August 2014 for the continuation of the case filed by her regarding the disappearance of her husband S Elilan. When the case was heard in June and July too similar protests took place.
Sasitharan had filed a case saying there is evidence her husband, former Trincomalee District LTTE political head S. Elilan, had surrendered to the military during the final stages of the war.Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Northern Provincial Council member Anandi Sasitharan says she hopes the court will give her justice in the case over her missing husband.
Over 300 protesters carrying placards walked from the Mullaitivu bus stand to the court premises shouting slogans against Ananthi Sasitharan and demanding answers from Ananthi Sasitharan on the fate of their children.
