TNA – SLMC hold discussions

TNA SLMC 2   The Tamil National Alliance and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leaders held a special discussion on problems faced by  by the people in the East,  at the Kalmunai Municipal Council  Town hall on 30 May 2014.  Special attention was  paid on problems caused to the Tamil – Muslim relationship in the council.

The Muslim Congress leader Rauf Hakeem has said that there is an agreement in principle between the Muslim Congress and the Tamil National Alliance.

The two parties spoke about the activities of the present political situation, the Kalmunai Municipal Council and on Tamil, Muslims issues. They also discussed about the up grading of the northern Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat, and on the  national issue.

Tamil National Alliance secretary and the parliamentarian Mavai Senathiraja, parliamentarians M.A.Sumanthiran, Pon.Selvarasa, P.Ariyanenthiran, secretary of TELO Henry Mahendran, Eastern Provincial Council member M.Rajeswaran, Muslim Congress leader Rauff Hakeem, Kalmunai Municipal Council Mayor M.Nizam Kariappa, Municipal council members, Muslim Congress General Secretary and the parliamentarian Hassan Ali and the Provincial Council member A.M.Jameel was also present at this discussion.

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has said the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) could hold discussions with the TNA leadership instead of participating in the talks between the government and the TNA.
