Canadian Tamil MP visits Jaffna

   Rathika Sitsabaiesan Canadian Member of Parliament arrived in Sri Lanka on Dec 28 and is currently visiting Jaffna. SriLanka born Rathika Sitsabaiesan is New Democratic Parliamentarian representing Scarborough –Rouge River.

She met Tamil National Alliance parliamentarian S Sritharan in Kilinochchi and Northern provincial council members Ananthi Sasitharan in Jaffna, and also with various organizations operating in Jaffna. She also visited the  Sabapatippillai refugee camp which British Prime Minister David Cameron visited.

She also visited the area of the High Security Zone in Valikamam North and is to visit  Mullaitivu today. She is expected to meet the Chief Minister of the Northern Province Mr Wigneswaran.

Meanwhile Ananthi Sasitharan speaking to media said, we have briefed the Canadian MP of problems face by women in the Northern province, human rights violations and disappearance persons in the north.
