Ananthi seeks justice

Ananthy Sasitharan 2   Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Northern Provincial Council member Anandi Sasitharan says she hopes the court will give her justice in the case over her missing husband.

Sasitharan had filed a case saying there is evidence her husband, former Trincomalee District LTTE political head S. Elilan, had surrendered to the military during the final stages of the war.

The Mullaitivu Court is to hear the case on December 2 and Sasitharan told the Colombo Gazette that she has collected more evidence to back her case.

“I want justice over my husband’s case. There were so many people who saw him surrender to the military,” she said.

Sasitharan said that several other people have also filed similar cases looking for their relatives who went missing during the war.

Meanwhile the Provincial Council member has been invited for an event organized by the Tamil Diaspora in the US next week.

TNA MPs Mavai Senathirajah and M.A. Sumanthiran have also been invited for the event and they are expected to depart tomorrow. (Colombo Gazette)
