Police shoot intruders in Journalist Mandana Ismails house

    A group of intruders had entered the residence of Sri Lanka Journalists Trade Union President and Sunday Leader journalist – Mandana Ismail Abeywickrama at Milagiriya in the early hours of today (24) around 3.00am.

One intruder had died after an exchange of fire between the group and the police. Two policeman have also been injured due to knife injuries. Two more intruders injured in the incident have been arrested by police along with another who was injured due to the police shooting.

it is reported that the of a group of men  had forcibly entered the residence of Mandana Ismail Abeywickrama,

Apart from that, another intruder has been wounded by police gunshots and another two have been arrested by the police.

Whilst the intruders had been ransacking her house police 119 had been alerted by her husband who had been away from the residence. The exchange had taken place when the police arrived on the scene to inquire on the complaint.

පසුව පොලිසිය කළ වෙඩි තැබීමකින් කොල්ලකල්ලි සාමාජිකයින් තිදෙනෙකු තුවාල ලබා ඇති අතර, ඔවුන් පොලිස් ආරක්ෂාව මත කොළඹ ජාතික රෝහලට ඇතුලත් කොට තිබේ. පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශකවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, එහිදී පලාගිය සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු සොයා පොලිසිය පරීක්ෂණ ආරම්භ කර ඇති බව ය.
