Judge arrested on bribery charge

    The District Judge of Homagama  was arrested by the Bribery Commission while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs. 300,000  from a person in Hanwella area. He allegedly tried to solicit a bribe of Rs. 300,000 from a person in order to return a Judgment in his favour, officials said.

The arrest was made at his residence following a complaint by the person concerned. The BCIC District Judge was scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate  today.

නඩුවක පැමිණිලිකරුගෙන් රුපියල් තුන් ලක්ෂයක අල්ලසක් ගත්තැයි සැකපිට අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ කොමිසමෙන් ඊයේ (29) රාත‍්‍රියේ දී අත්අඩංගුවට ගනු ලැබූ හෝමාගම දිසා විනිසුරු සුනිල් අබේසිංහ මහතා අද අධිකරණය හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිතය. හෝමාගම දිසා අධිකරණයේ විභාග වන නඩුවක පැමිණිලිකරුවෙකුගෙන් දිසා විනිසුරුවරයා මෙම අල්ලස් මුදල ලබාගෙන තිබේ.හංවැල්ල ප‍්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි පැමිණිලිකරුගේ නිවසේදී අදාළ අල්ලස් මුදල ලබාගැනීමේදී දිසා විනිසුරුවරයා මෙලෙස අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.
