“Ranaviru Resource Centre” opened at Hendala

      Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday(24) ceremoniously opened the ‘Resource Centre for War Heroes’ in Hendala Wattala .

The centre was constructed into a modern structure after transformed the old Leprosy Hospital complex belonging to the colonial era.

The new complex was designed particularly for disabled soldiers to undergo community-oriented vocational trainings such as motor mechanism, Carpentry, Computer Hardware, Horticulture, Information Technology, electronics and electric work etc.

Renovation and reconstruction of the 13-building project was devotedly executed by the Army Engineer Service Regiment at a cost of Rs 64 million. Including all the gears and machinery yet to be installed the cost would exceed Rs 90 million, according to the Directorate of Rehabilitation.

Mr. Rajapaksa also visited the training divisions of the building complex which has been fully equipped for training exercises.

The resource centre has the facilities to cater over 300 and the figure would be increased in due course further allowing its provisions to the personnel going on retirement.

රණවිරුවන් සඳහා පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් හැදල ප්‍රදේශයේ අත්හැර දමා තිබු ලාදුරු රෝහල් පරිශ්‍රයෙන් අක්කර 3.8 ක භුමිභාගයක, ගොඩනැගිලි 13 ක් උපයෝගි කර ගනිමින් ශ්‍රි ලංකා යුධ හමුදාව මෙම සමිපත් මධ්‍යස්ථානය ඉදිකර ඇත. මැයි මස 24 වන දින ආරක්ෂක හා නාගරික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යංශයේ ලේකමි ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අතින් විවෘත වුනු මෙම සමිපත් මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ ඉදිකිරීම් සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 64 ක පමණ මුදලක් වැය කිරිමට යෝජිතව ඇති අතර, මෙම මගින් ආබාධිත රණවිරුවන් 300ක් සඳහා වෘත්තිය පුහුණුව ලබාදීමට බලාපොරොත්තු ‍‍වේ.

මෝටර්රථ කාර්මික ශිල්පය, වැල්ඩීන් කිරිම‍‍. පෑස්සුමි ශිල්පය, මැටි කර්මාන්තය, තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණය, කොන්ඩා සැකසුම් ශිල්පය, පරිගණක දෘඩාංග පාඨමාලා, වඩු කර්මාන්තය, උද්‍යාන අලංකරණ පාඨමාලා, ජංගම දුරකථන පාඨමාලා, විදුලි මෝටර් ඵතී‍ම ආදි පාඨමාලා වලින් සමන්විත වන අතර, මෙම මධ්‍යස්ථාන‍‍ය පුනරුත්ථාපන අධ්‍යක්ෂක මෙජර් ජෙනරල් ආර් වී සමරතුංග මහතා විසින් මෙහයවනු ලබයි. ශ්‍රි ලංකා යුධ හමුදා 1 වන ඉංජි‍‍නේරු රෙජිමෙන්තුව විසින් නවිකරණය කරන ලද ‍මෙම සම්පත් මධ්‍යස්ථාන‍‍යේ පිහිනුමි තටාකයකින් හා කාය වර්ධනාගාරයකින්ද සමන්විත වනු ඇත. මෙම අවස්ථාවට ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යංශ අතිරේක ලේකම් මල්කාන්ති ජයවර්ධන මහත්මිය, යුද හමුදාපති ලුතිතන් ‍‍‍ජෙනරාල් ජගත් ජයසූරිය මහතා, යුද හමුදා මණ්ඩලික ප්‍රධානි ‍‍මේජර් ‍‍‍ජෙනරාල් දයා රත්නායක මහතා‍‍‍ ද සහභාගි වුහ.
