It’s more than three years since President Maithripala Sirisena came to power in Sri Lanka. He took over from a government which was accused of human rights abuses during the war against Tamil separatists.

Sirisena had promised a less authoritarian style of leadership. But Al Jazeera has seen disturbing evidence of continuing torture.
