EPRLF leader Suresh Premachandran, said “We cannot accept any form of devolution or decentralisation without the merger of the north and the east. There must be a federal system as per the Tamil people’s mandate for the TNA. The TNA should negotiate with the government about a federal system. We dropped the demand for a separate state. The government should come down at least to drop the unitary character of the state and settle for a federal system,” he said.
