A meeting between Tamil National Alliance Leader R.Sampanthan and Chief Minister of the Northern Province Justice Wigneswaran took place at the residence of senior President’s C0unsel and ITAK stalwart Attorney K Kanag-Ishwaran. at Issipathana Road, Babmbalapitiya on 25 December 2015.
The talks centred on the issues faced by the TNA and issues that have caused concerns to both and took place in the background of increasing dissension over Wigneswaran’s non-participation in the election campaign of the TNA during the parliamentary election and his inauguration of Tamil People’s Council etc.
Sampanthan did not meet the media. The CM commenting on the meeting said The interests of the Tamil people are important to both of us and we have decided have more meetings like this to discuss several matters, said CM, to the media men.
“we talked cordially about several matters. We have to talk more. We will meet again. The interests of Tamil people are important to both of us. They have agreed to meet again and continue the dialogue.
Meanwhile the second meeting of the TPC will be held on 27 December at the Jaffna Public Library
