Pakistan is all set to accord a warm welcome with open arms to the Chinese President Xi Jinping today reflecting deep love and friendship in the hearts of people for their Chinese brothers. The landmark and high profile visit of Mr Xi is being considered as a game changer not only for the two countries but also for entire region as the projects of Pak-China Economic Corridor will be beneficial for economic development and prosperity of the people of South Asia and Central Asia as well.
One has no doubt to say that there is genuine warmth and enthusiasm in Pakistan for President Xi and people are rightly expecting a lot from his visit. Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz in remarks said it is high mark of our decades old relationship and the next 48 hours will be understandably witnessing the fruits in the shape of signing of a number of MoUs and Agreements. Over a long period of time China and Pakistan have conducted all round mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation in every field bringing tangible benefits to peoples of both the countries.
The two sides are presently working together to steadily advance the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor to build a community of destiny to expand their converging interests and strive for common development with the aim to deliver even more benefits to their peoples and realise brighter development prospects. We may appreciate that while China made great strides in every sphere of life and working towards the dream of great national rejuvenation, it has not restricted the resources for development at home but is also helping the neighbours as well as far away countries by sharing its technical knowhow and vast funds. Thus it has become a role model for other developed countries to extend assistance to the developing world without any strings and that needs to be emulated.
While there would be extensive talks on further expanding the bilateral relationship, yet all eyes will be on President Xi address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament on Tuesday during which he is expected to share his vision for Pak-China bilateral relationship and the world at large. We are confident that the visit will further cement relations, take them to new zenith and the two countries will continue to work hand in hand to open up an even brighter future for their peoples.
