In a statement by the Secretary of the Tamil National Alliance and parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah, he said that the South based National Fisheries Cooperation Movement held talks regarding the protest to be held in connection to the ongoing suffering of the Tamil people, especially the problems faced by fishermen.
We will support the struggle against the Sri Lanka Rajapaksa government stated above. It has come to light that its military power is used to grab the lands belonging to Tamils and also they started resettling Sinhalese in the Tamil people lands as they need according to their planned program.
Because of this, in the northern and eastern parts of Tamil regions, in refugee camps in India, our Tamil people are suffering as a refugee. These people who can not create their livelihood, can not do agriculture, can not freely involve in fishing business are oppressed without being settled for more than 25 years.
The government with an aim to destroy the Tamils are taking all these steps. So we welcome the southern organizations that came to us for their protest against anti-democratic laws. We will participate in the democratic protests organized on 15th July at 10:00 AM and win in that.
