A large no of Sri Lankan Muslims protested today outside the Prime Ministers house in London on 18 June 2014. The Protests was against the Sri Lankan government sponsored riots on the Minority Muslim community.
A large number of Muslim Women and Children took part in the protest.
The attacks are the latest in a series of religious clashes to hit Sri Lanka following unrest in January and last year, when Buddhist mobs attacked a mosque in the capital Colombo. Muslims make up about 10 percent of the 20 million population, but are accused by nationalists of having undue influence in the Buddhist-majority country.
Meanwhile members of two Tamil Nadu-based Muslim community groups also held demonstrations outside the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission in Chennai on 17 June 2014.
Members of Tamil Nadu Thowheedh Jamaath (TNTJ) and Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) staged separate protests outside the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission office at Nungambakkam, police said.
