Cabinet spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said that Cabinet will take the final decision on the implementation of the 13th Amendment.
However he says the Government has already decided that police powers will not be devolved to the provinces and that those powers will remain with the central Government.
The Minister said this in response to a question raised at a press briefing held in Kandy. Asked about conflicting views expressed by some Government Ministers on the issue, Rambukwella said that anyone had a right to express their opinion. (Colombo Gazette)
