A delegation from the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) headed by the leader R.Sambanthan is scheduled to visit South Africa on April 9 to have discussions with the special envoy on Sri Lanka Cyril Ramaposa appointed by South African President Jacob Zuma.
TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran said the TNA delegation is not going to discuss the TRC process with South Africa. TNA leader R.Sambanthan, Mavai Senathiraja, Suresh Premachchandran, Selvam Adaikalanathan and M.A.Sumanthiran will make official visit to South Africa from April 9-12th, parliamentarian said.
The meeting comes as South Africans continue dialogue with Sri Lanka on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) process.
The TNA is to have talks with the South African special envoy ahead of the Special ambassadors scheduled visit Sri Lanka soon. The Lankan panel visited South Africa in February and held special meeting with the ambassador.
South Africa recently had talks with a government delegation after Sri Lanka showed interest in learning about the TRC process.
The South Africans had also abstained from voting in favour of the US sponsored resolution at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
