electricity hike    The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said there would be no planned power cuts but intermittent power outages if the generated capacity does not match with the system capacity.

A CEB spokesman said that the there was a breakdown at Randenigala today and this resulted in even the Rantambe power station malfunctioning.

“There can be intermittent disconnections in the system due inactivity of Norochcholai, Kelanithissa, Randenigala and Rantambe power stations,” said Deputy General Manager of the CEB Senajith Dassanayake.

He further stated that they cannot predict as to when and how long the intermittent disconnections would last.
