Arrest the Northern Bishops

clergy   A movement called the Dharmapala Generation has accused the Catholic Bishops in the Northern Province of trying to create a rift between the Catholics and Buddhists in the country.

The movement has said at a news conference that the claim is made due to the comments made by the bishops during the period of the war and their behaviour at present.

Ven. Prof. Induragare Dhammaratana Thero has said that the Catholic Council should take action against the two bishops in the North for acting against the Catholic population in the country and preventing the peaceful co-existence of Catholics and Buddhists in the country.

The Thero has said that the two bishops were affiliated to the LTTE and were making comments against the country aimed at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva in March.

According to Ven. Dhammaratana Thero, the two bishops should be arrested for making statements against the state.
