channel 4    A Channel 4 crew which includes controversial producer Callum Macrae, has been granted a visa to visit Sri Lanka for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), the Media Ministry said.

The Media Ministry said that the Channel 4 team was granted approval as they had fulfilled the requirements stipulated by the Commonwealth Secretariat when granting access to cover the summit.

Callum Macrae is the director of the film ‘No Fire Zone: the Killing Fields of Sri Lanka’ which has created controversy around the world as it alleges the army had killed LTTE members who were either captures or surrendered during the final stages of the war.

Just this week Macrae had said it appeared he is being denied a visa to attend the premiere of his film in Delhi scheduled to be held tomorrow. (Colombo Gazette)
