CBK to chair Madrid meeting on ‘Women facing Double Discrimination’

CBK    Former President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunga is currently in Madrid, Spain to Chair a Meeting of the Club de Madrid Working Group on” Women and Shared Societies – Women facing Double Discrimination ”

The meeting will study examples of Women assuming Leadership on behalf of their identity groups, to address the problem of social exclusion and marginalization. These deliberations will reflect the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which calls for women’s equal participation in all decisions and efforts for the maintenance and promotion of Peace and Security.

The recommendations of the Meeting will be presented to the ongoing dialogues on the Post -2015 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals s and also utilized for future Club de Madrid projects.
