Nuwara Eliya district Member of Parliament P. Rajadurai says he has resigned from the Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC). His resignations follows a rift with the CWC leadership headed by Minister Arumugam Thondaman. He is expected to join the ruling UPFA.
The CWC MP and lawyer stated that his resignation has already been prepared and that he will hand it over to the party General Secretary today (9) or on Saturday
Mr Rajadurai said he will call a press conference within two weeks to elaborate on his decision and future political activities.
The Nuwara Eliya District MP was very active in his electorate especially when it came to dealing with issues faced by Tamils of Indian origin.
