Sri Lankan named oldest living by Guinness book

oldest living   A Sri Lankan, Apullanalada Ukku, 116 years, is said to be the  oldest person in the world, after Japanese national, Jiroemon Kimura (116 years), died on 12 June.Ms Ukku, living at No. 82 A, Bulathgamuwa, Mawanella, in the Kegalle District, is now the longest living person in the world.

The National Identity Card of Ukku Amma of Bulathgamuwa is 977960037 V. Based on the data in the National Identity Card (NIC), is  22 August, 1897.

She has eight children, and around 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The second oldest person living in the world is Misaka Okawa of Japan.

The names of the oldest living persons in the world  according to the Guinness Book of records are;

Apullanalada Ukku – 22 August 1897 – Sri Lanka
Misaka Okawa – 5 May 1898 – Japan
Jeraliyan Tele – 23 May 1899 – United Kingdom
Mushat Jones – 6 July 1899 – United Kingdom
Benris Medigan – 24 July 1899
