The Puducherry unit of the DMK on Tuesday flayed Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office V Narayanasamy for his statement on the fishermen’s Issue. Narayanasamy had said that the attack on the Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy was the repercussion of the ongoing agitations against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapkasa in TN.
In a statement, DMK State convener Dr M A S Subramanian said that Narayansamy had brought to the fore the stand of the Congress party on the issue.
The Central government, which airlifted Indians from Fiji Island during a military coup there and took steps to protect the north Indians in Australia, showed no interest and gave no value to the lives of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
Despite request from party president M Karunanidhi, the Centre is providing military training to Lankan personnel in Tamil Nadu, which need to be condemned, he said. Taking all these into consideration, the people will give a fitting reply to the Congress party in Parliament elections, said the DMK leader. (New Indian Express)
