According to the newspaper staff, the office at Kasthuriyar road was attacked at around 4.45 this morning.
The staff was preparing to distribute the newspapers when an armed gang entered the premises and threatened the staff before moving into the printing press.
Three armed men first threatened the security guard of the office and later opened fire at the computers as well as the printing machines and then poured petrol on it and set it on fire.
The incident is the latest in a series of attacks against the Jaffna-based newspaper, and its employees over the past several years and comes just 10 days after the Uthayan offices in Kilinochi was attacked .
The Jaffna police arrived at the location and are conducting investigations.
