Bodu Bala Sena will continue its struggle

Bodu bala      The Bodu Bala Sena says some politicians are scared of the public support the organisation, made up of mostly Buddhist monks, has got in recent times.

Speaking at the Bodu Bala Sena convention in Kandy this evening, the executive Committee Member of the Bodu Bala Sena, Dilantha Vithanage said that they have a large number of followers who belive in their goals.

“We don’t give rice packets and liquor to get a crowd like some politicians. These are genuine followers of us,” he said.

He says the Bodu Bala Sena will continue its “struggle” in Sri Lanka on behalf of the Sinhala Buddhists and will not stop until its goals are met.

Vithanage meanwhile insisted that they are not against Muslims and will not harm any Muslim physically.

He claimed there is a malicious campaign being spread against the Bodu Bala Sena with an attempt to conspire against Sri Lanka with the assistance of some Western countries.

He also criticized Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara for attempting to create inter-religious alliances instead of promoting Buddhism.

Speaking at the convention, Vithanage said that Sri Lanka does not need inter-religious alliances.

Vithanage accused the Minister of going to Tamil schools and promoting inter-religious alliances with a sinister and political agenda.

The Bodu Bala Sena reiterated that the halal issue is not over and that it will continue its campaign against the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) on the issuing of the halal certification.
